WHO ARE WE
Stop The Skim is a group of local consumers, restaurants and retailers aligned in a national effort to restore sanity to transaction fees.
The average family’s cost of living is increased to $1,200 annually by card fees. For retailers and restaurants, swipe fees are their largest cost next to labor. Worse still, low-income families pay the most in card fees at nearly $0.60 per swipe.
We believe that these costs are unreasonable and driven upward by a transaction marketplace that lacks competition and transparency. We support legislation that would eliminate swipe fees on taxes to provide relief to small businesses.
If you agree with us, contact your legislators and encourage them to support this year’s legislation.
